This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

He has divided this country setting us back 50 years with all this racial innuendo now he is dividing the Germans over where he wants to make a speech. The Brandenburg Monument is a symbol to the German People to remind them of the terrible strife their country went through with Hitler and Russia. What is his symbolism going to be racial for the black man. This monument is for all the German not just the locale population. He is so arrogant an I hope the German people will not let him do this arrogant thing. And shame on them if they do.Does he now think he can rule the world he will mesmerize the world with all his hot air bull@!$%#. Read your Bible he has a silver tongue and the people will follow like sheep and you are all following like sheep . God please help us all if he is elected you will all surely regret it.

      e.g sammie,

I am absolutely amazed of what I am learning about so called Americans! This man is half white but this is ignored by you and the likes of you. All you see is the darkness of his skin. I have never once heard Obama use his skin for any reason beyond responding to questions proposed to him by some (white) reporter.

You do realize he was INVITED there right? That means they seek him out and not the other way around. You do realize his ratings in Europe is higher than the sitting president ( granted not impressive) and any other potential President, right? Do you not consider the great public relations he brings to our credibility in other countries or are you too angry that a "black man" would be a possible help to the UNITED States where ALL men are supposedly equal and have the right to pursue their endeavors in life. That does not apply by your standards because he is not all white? The man speaks well and you have an issue with that? This is cray. You tell back people they should make their own way and when one does, you find fault. He tells you where he stands and is willing to compromise with the other party and in return, you criticize him. You create symbols of explicates and then call up the WORD OF GOD and you question his stance? God, please help us all if there are enough of you to cost him the election.

This is theatrical and cynical. My comments has nothing to do with race.. This has to do with the man and his ethics. Everything he does is less related to what he really believes but as a promotion for himself. He aligns himself with the Kennedy legacy by appointing Caroline Kennedy as an adviser to his vice- presidential committee, something for which she is meagerly qualified. He walks into the Senate with the ailing Edward Kennedy, riding on his coattails while he still can. He goes to Reverend Wright's church for twenty years to get Black support and when it is no longer helpful to him dumps the man and his church. He makes a speech on patriotism in Harry Truman's hometown. He all about manipulation of his image by positioning himself with things that or people that has great historical significance to give himself some of the weight, importance and significance. Which he doesn't have because he hasn't done anything. He is creating a fictional Obama, a great man, a great leader when he hasn't accomplished anything great or lead anywhere. He is creating a media image and is quite shameless about. His makes a nuisance of himself to the German government so he can get the right photo op for himself. His whole tour isn't to learn but to use and stage and to create an illusion of greatness. He hasn't accomplished anything as a servant of the people. He used his elected positions to further his ambition. He is using the American people to further his own ambitions. He is not running to serve the country but himself.

CB-Chester Co PA, No one can or should deny you your opinion, but as a person reading it, it would have more credibility if you used examples of substance. Otherwise, it reads more like you are saying I do not like him and I want you to know it and not like him too! It's too serious of a decision to base a vote on that kind of rhetoric. Here you tell me that you do not like that he has aligned himself with the Kennedys. Are you against any alignments presidential candidates make or are you just against his? You say he went to the church 20 years and then dumps the man and the church. One could argue that he did them a favor as the media would not give the church a rest until he did. He speaks at Historical Landmarks and that seems to bother you too. So you are bothered that he reminds you of patriotic locations? Then there's Germany. According to headlines your thoughts of him being a "nuisance" is expressed in the headlines as follows:

International Herald Tribune: January 08, 2008 International Obama popular in Germany, for all the creepy reasons
Barack Obama's success in the polls has won him a whole new fan base...in Germany. Two papers referred to Obama as the "new Kennedy", and Uwe Andersen, a political science professor at Ruhr University, said of the phenomenon:
In Germany, there is great sympathy first for Native Americans and second for black Americans.

I just dont see where they find him a nuisance!

Let's just turn the tables for a moment. Would we ever see a candidate ... candidate, not even elected official ... for German chancellor or president giving a speech at the National Mall with the Lincoln Memorial as a backdrop? Both locations are equally important & symbolic in each countries history. The arrogance and sheer commercial mindedness of this man is maddening! I must say, as a devout democrat, he is rapidly loosing points in my book. I fear I will be left with no one to vote for in November. Shame there isn't a box you tick that says something to the effect of "neither".

            CGF -270478,

I am to believe you are a Democrat, but not proud that an American/Democrat has been welcomed to speak at an "important & symbolic" loacation? I mean really, come on. Really? You disapprove of a Deomcrat being welcomed on behalf of your Party, your counrty? WOW! Now that's some serious love for Germans! Only if you read the headlines, they are not on your side.

"A prophet is never respected in his own country". Most of us foreigners are amazed that some Americans are so blinded by "race" that they refuse to see the obvious. Now I understand why your country is in a state of decline, If you cannot recognise and harness the potential of an "Obama presidency".

Bowie, No doubt we have problems, yet America really is a great place. I hope this election will help "Unite" us further. Meanwhile, may I have permission to quote you?

He's taking time out of his schedule to go and talk to the German population?? About what? Why doesn't he take time to go to Germany and visit one of the many Army posts or Air bases? What about the big hospital that is set up in Eastern Germany? Does he think the Germans are the ones electing him into office? What is he hoping to do by going to Berlin? If anyone knows why he's going to Germany to give a speech please enlighten me.
